We Need You!

We can always use help, so look for a board member in a red shirt and ask what you can do.

All volunteers for the positions listed below will receive their choice of a free local race (points only--you must cover the extra $3 if you want a trophy) or a free meal from concessions. As a result of the heat of the State Qualifier, we have implemented some changes to make everyone more comfortable. There will be a tent, chairs, and a cooler of cold drinks for the scorers and coolers of cold drinks for the corner marshalls and stager. We would prefer to switch out the corner marshalls, scorers and stagers during the race if we can get enough volunteers. This way volunteers won't be stuck out in the sun during the entire race. If there is anything else we could do to help make the volunteer experience better or more enticing please drop us an email or give a board member a call.

We need to fill the following volunteer positions at every race in order to run the race. The announcer will ask for volunteers and you can sign up at the registration office. If you're not sure what the position requires, ask a Board member in a red shirt. We can train you and we need your help.

Corner Marshals (The best seat in the house!):   Three corner marshals are required per race. They sit on the benches at the top of each of the three corners of the track. They are responsible for monitoring the conduct of the riders on the track and signaling the referee and other race officials with flags when a rider is down or when there are conditions that warrant the attention of the officials.

Yellow Flag:   Indicates the location of a dangerous condition on the track that riders should avoid, i.e. a down rider. Riders continue to race under yellow.
Red Flag:   Indicates that the race has been stopped. Riders return to the starting gate.

Scorers:   Three scorers are required per race. The scorers are responsible for writing the finish position of every rider as he crosses the finish line in each race. The official finish positions of each race are determined by a majority of the finish line scorers.

Stager:   There is one stager at local races; Regional and National races require more. The staging official maintains order in the staging lanes and helps the racers progress to the starting gate. A visual check for proper safety equipment is done in staging. The stager announces moto numbers, age groups, and checks the rider's names on the moto sheets.

Concessions; 50/50 raffle ticket sales; t-shirt sales:   We can also always use help at concessions, with the 50/50 raffle, and at the t-shirt table. These volunteer positions also receive a choice of a free local race (points only--you must cover the extra $3 if you want a trophy) or a free meal from concessions.   Come on by and lend a hand.

Hampton Supertrack is run and maintained completely by volunteers and we're always looking for help. We need you physically on race day and to help with track maintenance, but if your schedule doesn't permit it we understand. We can always use donations of money, goods, or services. Talk to one of our board members to see how you can help. We look forward to another 30 years of great family fun at hampton Supertrack. We can't do it without your help!
